Labor Day Weekend in San Diego

We were able to go to San Diego for Labor Day and visited with Jeremy and Erin. We had a blast and can't wait to go back.
We decided to be brave one night and go out to dinner. We ended up at TGIFridays. It was so busy and LOUD there. I guess that means they didn't notice a few more crazy kids, but we didn't really get to visit at all.

Some one had started this flower at the beach in the sand and I thought it was really cool. It looks like they were trying to fill it in with the different colored rocks. I am so not artistic and could never have come up with this.

Ah, the coveted "Rocket Seat". When we bought this van we had to nickname the built-in car seat the "Rocket Seat" in order to get Walker to sit in it. Now that he is too big for it, it is the seat that all the toddlers want to sit in. Jaron had a blast riding in our van in the "Rocket Seat". Carter usually sat in Jeremy's van with Emmy, but this time he wanted to ride with Jaron. Emmy cried in their car the whole time wanting Carter.

Rock Band, need I say more.

Jaron and Carter heading to the shore. Jeremy took us to the private Navy beach on Coronado Island. It was so nice, and not crowded at all.

Walker and Steve skipping rocks.

Carter finally was brave enough this time to get in the water.

Reagan playing in the sand.

My boys.

These are seals on the rocks. If you click on the picture it will get bigger and you can see. One day we went to a beach called Children's Pool (I think). I guess years ago the city built a wall to keep some of the waves off the beach, thinking it would be better for kids. Then I guess the seals took over. It was really cool to see them. Walker kept saying "This is the closest I have ever been to a seal." Then we would go further down and the would say " Ok, now this is the closest I have ever been to a seal."

Kids checking out the seals. Carter, Jaron, Walker, and Reagan.

This picture is pretty awesome. Again, you will have to click on it to make it bigger. When the kids were little they use to call the sun coming though the clouds like that the "Light of Jesus".

Look's like a fun trip. How far is San Diego from your house? You guys go there a lot so it must be pretty close! That picture at the bottom with the sun shining through the clouds is beautiful!!! I really would like to come down there for a trip some time. We're really going to have to plan it some time!

Looks like you had a lot of fun. Seriously when are we going to get together again. It is silly we only live 1 1/2 hours away and we don't see each other more. We would be happy to drive to see you this time since you have driven twice to see us. Give me a call and lets set something up.

That last picture should be framed...it is beautiful. You don't give yourself enough credit on the artistic side.

How fun! I can't wait to go to California again. It has been forever. Brave you are for going to dinner...it seems with kids your smartest bet IS to go to a loud place, but then as you said, the grown ups don't get to visit. Ah, the joys of being a parent. :-)
