REAGAN TURNS 11

Here is Reagan the morning of her birthday eating her breakfast, cake and scrambled eggs, YUM!

We gave her a couple of shirts so she could have something new to wear to school.

These are the decorations for the party. Yes, I know it isn't much, but I had a hard time coming up with things that matched our theme "Little House on the Prairie".
This is a handkerchief doll. Thanks to my Aunt Janice who gave me all of the handkerchiefs and gave me the instructions, and my grandma for giving us the lace and ribbon. The girls made these for one of the activities.

Steve made some homemade bread and made some mini loaves for the girls to take home with them.

This is the girls making butter (shaking whipping cream in jars, until it turns into butter) while watching "Little House on the Prairie". When the show was over they ate some of the butter they made on some of the bread that Steve made. They all said it was really good. We let them take some of the butter home to eat with their mini loaves of bread.

Here is the girls making their handkerchief dolls.

Opening presents.

This is Reagan's birthday cake, blackberry cobbler. We decided that cobbler in a dutch oven sounded closer to our theme than cake. It was really good, at least I thought so.

We had a little time leftover so the girls played "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader", Walker and Carter gave it to Reagan. I hope they all had a good time, Reagan had a BLAST!

Walker Can Ride a 2-Wheeler

Steve was finally able to talk Walker into letting him take the training wheels off of his bike. Steve didn't even need to hold on to him when he started going, he already had it down.

Look at him go. Now all he wants to do when he is home is ride his bike. His bike is a little small, if you couldn't tell. I think he is going to have to inherit Reagan's bike, even though it is pink and purple. This weekend the boys are going to repaint it so it looks like a boys bike.

Here is Carter riding his bike.

Steve talked Carter into trying one of the hot peppers that came with our pizza last night. He actually took a couple of bites and said it was good. But then he came up to me and said his mouth was hot. He had to drink quite a bit to ease the pain.

A couple of weeks ago our van decided to break down on us. The kids and I had gone to Home Depot for the kids workshop. We went back out to the car to go home and it wouldn't start. Steve had was working that day, he had just started a new job at an Urgent Care, and couldn't leave to come and rescue us. It was very HOT outside (over 100 I am sure) and I wasn't sure what to do. We walked to Taco Bell and had lunch, then walked back to the car and it still wouldn't start. Luckily we have family near by, I was able to call my Uncle and he sent one of my cousins to come and rescue us. After Steve got off work we went back to Home Depot to see if we could figure out what was wrong. It ended up being the battery, and luckily it was still under warranty, so we got a new one free. This is a picture of Steve and the boys putting in the new battery. I am so grateful that Steve is so knowledgeable in so many different areas. I hope he can pass that on to our kids.

Labor Day Weekend in San Diego

We were able to go to San Diego for Labor Day and visited with Jeremy and Erin. We had a blast and can't wait to go back.
We decided to be brave one night and go out to dinner. We ended up at TGIFridays. It was so busy and LOUD there. I guess that means they didn't notice a few more crazy kids, but we didn't really get to visit at all.

Some one had started this flower at the beach in the sand and I thought it was really cool. It looks like they were trying to fill it in with the different colored rocks. I am so not artistic and could never have come up with this.

Ah, the coveted "Rocket Seat". When we bought this van we had to nickname the built-in car seat the "Rocket Seat" in order to get Walker to sit in it. Now that he is too big for it, it is the seat that all the toddlers want to sit in. Jaron had a blast riding in our van in the "Rocket Seat". Carter usually sat in Jeremy's van with Emmy, but this time he wanted to ride with Jaron. Emmy cried in their car the whole time wanting Carter.

Rock Band, need I say more.

Jaron and Carter heading to the shore. Jeremy took us to the private Navy beach on Coronado Island. It was so nice, and not crowded at all.

Walker and Steve skipping rocks.

Carter finally was brave enough this time to get in the water.

Reagan playing in the sand.

My boys.

These are seals on the rocks. If you click on the picture it will get bigger and you can see. One day we went to a beach called Children's Pool (I think). I guess years ago the city built a wall to keep some of the waves off the beach, thinking it would be better for kids. Then I guess the seals took over. It was really cool to see them. Walker kept saying "This is the closest I have ever been to a seal." Then we would go further down and the would say " Ok, now this is the closest I have ever been to a seal."

Kids checking out the seals. Carter, Jaron, Walker, and Reagan.

This picture is pretty awesome. Again, you will have to click on it to make it bigger. When the kids were little they use to call the sun coming though the clouds like that the "Light of Jesus".
